How to Review a Piece's History

A piece page brings together its assignments, shared practice recording details, and your teaching references. Use it to review the piece across students or find a listening example. Student recordings show practice details only; teachers cannot play that audio.

Steps

  1. Open the piece. In References, choose Pieces or Singles and select the piece. For a book piece, choose Books, open the book, and select Open beside the piece.
  2. Check the overview. Review assignment and recording counts, tempo, and last activity. When student filters appear, select a student to narrow the history.
  3. Review Assignments. Expand an assignment's recording count to see its shared recording details. Scroll within the panel for more assignments.
  4. Review References. Play a published reference or open its title for details. Select View piece on the reference page to return. Use Add recording in the panel header to create another reference for this piece.

ℹ️ Note: On iPad in landscape, Assignments and References appear side by side. On narrower screens, they stack; each list scrolls independently.

How to Record a Reference

A reference is a teaching audio clip you can attach to an assignment as a listening example. Each new reference belongs to a piece, which supplies its title and composer. Record a passage in the browser, then review and publish the saved draft before using it in assignments.

How to Import a Reference

A reference is a teaching audio clip you can attach to an assignment so a student can listen to an example. Each new reference belongs to a piece; its title and composer are filled in for you. Importing audio saves a draft to review and publish before assignment use.

How to Reuse a Reference

A published reference is a teaching audio clip already prepared for assignments. Reusing it attaches the same clip to another student's assignment, so you can share a listening example without recording or importing another copy.
