How to Manage Recording Backup

Recording backup stores reviewed, approved audio in your family's Premium Vault. A local recording stays on the device unless you approve a backup. Turning backup on does not approve recordings automatically.

Before you begin

Select the child in Family. The primary guardian manages Back Up Recordings; new backups require eligible Premium access and backup availability.

Steps

1. Find Recording backup. Review the child's Back Up Recordings status and any availability message.
2. Choose backup access. Turn Back Up Recordings on and authenticate when requested. If Requires Premium appears, open View Premium details to review access.
3. Review each recording. Open Recordings, choose a take, listen, confirm the review, and select Approve & back up when offered. Check its status rather than assuming approval completed the upload.
4. Check teacher listening. Under Teacher, use Allow Teacher Listening to control access to approved backups for active teachers' assignments. This is on by default; turning it off preserves family access.

⚠️ Warning: Turning backup off stops cloud access. The confirmation offers a recovery period or Delete cloud recordings now. Recordings still on this device are kept; cloud-only copies need recovery before the displayed deadline.
